Wednesday, 1 March 2023: Faculty of Political Science and Public Administration, Chiang Mai University co-organised by the Monitoring Centre on Violence Events (MOVE), Institute of Asian Studies, Chulalongkorn University hosted the panel discussion on “Contextualizing Violence Database in the Northern Region.” The event was attended by local civil societies, the press, the representatives of government agency and political parties, the academics and students from Chiang Mai University. The panelists discussed the importance and insights from the dashboard, the local context of organised violence, and policy recommendations. They also discussed why the North has the highest rate of security force-civilian encounters in the country.
