From India’s multi-day general elections (the largest electoral exercise in the world) to Indonesia’s presidential poll ( the world’s biggest single-day vote), and to tiny Palau’s presidential election. There are elections in every region of the world. .

While there are very consequential elections slated in the later part of the year in the United States, Mexico and the United Kingdom, there are nearly a dozen of nations that will go to polls in the background of intensifying conflicts and geopolitical challenges..

What can be done to shore up democratic institutions such as electoral bodies, judiciary, and the media? How to preserve democratic norms in the face of hyperpolarization and growing disinformation which is further accentuating with the emergence of generative AI tools? How to protect democracy from the growing challenges of right-wing nationalism?.
