online public seminar “Asia’s Crises, Taiwan, China and ASEAN: What is the Way Out?”

Institute of Asian Studies, Chulalongkorn University is organizing an online public seminar “Asia’s Crises, Taiwan, China and ASEAN: What is the Way Out?” with the purpose to raise public awareness on the many crises Asia is facing today. These crises include the ever-spreading COVID-19 pandemic and the ongoing Russo-Ukrainian war, both of which attacking Asia with wave after wave of severe economic recession and global political insecurity. Internally meanwhile, the Myanmar coup in February 2022 only worsened the matters and escalated international concerns. Last but not least, the recent visit to Taiwan by Nanci Pelosi, Speaker of the United States House of Representatives has virtually stirred up the tension within the trilateral Sino-Taiwan-US confrontation. Above all, the big question is: how, then, are we to find for Asia the most compatible way out of these crises?
The seminar will be held online via Zoom Meeting on Thursday, August 11, 2022 at 01:00pm-03:00pm and hosted by Institute of Asian Studies, Chulalongkorn University with Professor Ukrist Pathmanand as the moderator.
