Thursday, 23 February 2023: Faculty of Political Science, Ubon Ratchathani University co-organised by the Monitoring Centre on Violence Events (MOVE), Institute of Asian Studies, Chulalongkorn University hosted the panel discussion on “Thailand Violence Database: Mass-shooting, Political Conflict, and Civil Rights.” The event was attended by local civil societies, the press, the representatives of government agency and national political parties, the academics and students from Ubon Ratchathani University.
The panelists discussed the importance and insights from the dashboard (movedata.knowmorenomoreviolence.com), the history of violence in the local context, and policy recommendations. Panelists also shared their personal experiences with organised violence under the backdrop of the recent mass shootings in Nakhon Ratchasima and Nong Bua Lamphu.
