This conference, co-hosted by the Institute of Asian Studies, Chulalongkorn University, Indonesian Consortium for Religious Studies and Henry Luce Foundation, is the 3rd international conference of a 3-year collaborative research project entitled "Religion, Public Policy and Social Transformation in Southeast Asia". The project was started at the initiative of Indonesian Consortium of Religious Studies involving partners of 9 countries including Thailand, receiving the main support from the Henry Luce Foundation. The expected outcome of the project is to bring the US and Southeast Asian religion experts, policy makers and analysts closer together in mutual understanding, partnership and engagement on issues pertaining to religion, public policy and social transformation. The project is to serve as an effective platform for greater intellectual engagement and collaboration in policy-relevant research and advocacy.
